《角鬥士》劇情介紹：公元180年，羅馬帝國的老皇帝馬庫斯·奧裏利烏斯和羅馬軍隊裏最有威望的將軍馬克西姆斯托付，希望立他爲自己皇位的繼承人，這一表態立即引起了馬庫斯的兒子卡默多斯的強烈不滿。權慾薰心的卡默多斯竟然弒父篡位，並下令殺死馬克西姆斯。
馬克西姆斯潛逃埋名，被迫成爲競技場裏用性命的搏殺來娛樂觀衆的角鬥士。他本身豐富的作戰經驗使他逐步成爲最著名和最受歡迎的角鬥士之一。
